From Web App to Platform: 5+ Years of verein360 (with Neos & Flow)
verein360 is a platform for associations and (sports) clubs, hosting around 12,000 clubs and helping them manage their club operations digitally. What started as a classic web application evolved into a distributed, event-driven system with multiple dedicated Flow application services and a core based on event sourcing, processing millions of events.
Over time, the platform has changed significantly — from traditional setups to modern, container-based infrastructure. In parallel, we’ve navigated multiple major framework upgrades while keeping the platform stable and moving forward.
In this talk, I’ll share the story of verein360: how the project evolved, how Neos and Flow supported that journey, and what we learned along the way. I’ll focus on practical insights, key decisions, and lessons learned about building and evolving a long-running product—from architecture and operations to collaboration and mindset.
